THE DETAILED ITINERARY:
DAY 1: HO CHI MINH CITY ARRIVAL (no meals).
Be met at Tan Son Nhat Airport from flight and be transferred to hotel in center Ho Chi Minh City. In the largest of Vietnam’s cities, you will see the hustle and bustle of Vietnamese life everywhere and there is something invigorating about it all. Contrasting images of the exotic and mundane abound. There are the street markets, where bargains are struck and deals are done; the pavement cafes, where stereo speakers fill the surrounding streets with a melodious thumping beat; and the sleek new cafes and pubs, where tourists chat over beer, pretzels, coffee and croissants. A young office worker maneuvers her Honda Dream through rush-hour traffic, long hair flowing, high heel working the brake pedal. The sweating Chinese businessman chats on his cellular phone, cursing his necktie in the tropical heat.

DAY 2: HO CHI MINH – MEKONG DELTA – HO CHI MINH (B).
Leave Ho Chi Minh City after breakfast for a scenic drive to the watery world of the Mekong Delta – Vietnam’s most fertile region and the source of a large amount of the country’s fresh food. Continue taking a boat trip to fruit orchards and Cai Be floating market which offer great insights into the daily lives of the locals along the rivers and canals. Drive back Saigon. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
DAY 3: HO CHI MINH – CU CHI TUNNELS – TRAIN TO DA NANG (B).
A morning city tour of bustling Ho Chi Minh City. We explore Ho Chi Minh City’s grand boulevards, passing famous sites such as the former President’s Palace, the Old Saigon Post Office, the Notre Dame Cathedral.
Leave for Cu Chi tunnels, one of the few remaining monuments to the Vietnam War. The tunnels were part of an underground network that was built by the Vietcong during the American War. Come back to Ho Chi Minh City, transfer to Saigon station for evening train to Da Nang (soft sleeper 4 berth sharing compartment) SE2 (19.00-12.36+1).

DAY 4: DA A NANG – HOI AN (B).
Meet on arrival at 1236 at Danang station, little rest before visiting Cham Museum, Cham sculptures museum with its collection of relics from the Cham Kingdom and Marble Moutain. Passing Danang, the car will continue to Hoian with visit of Marble Mountains on the way. Explore Hoian charming town on foot.

DAY 5: HOI AN – MY SON – DA NANG – HUE (B).
My Son -One of the most stunning sights in the Hoi An area is My Son, Vietnam's most important Cham site, and as of 2000 a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the centuries when Tra Kieu (the known as Simhapura) served as the political capital of Champa, My Son was the site of the most important Cham intellectual and religious centre, and also may has served as burial place for Cham monarchs. My Son is considered to be Champa's counterpart to the grand city of South-East Asia's other Indian-influence civilisation: Angkor (Cambodia), Bagan (Myanmar), Ayuthaya (Thailand) and Borobudur (Java).

DAY 6: HUE – HANOI (B).
Morning, we cruise on the scenic Perfume River and visit the 16th century Thien Mu pagoda
Continue to visit the Imperial Citadel-an impressive complex, first built in 17th century based on the ancient practice of geomancy. We also take a visit the completely different Khai Dinh royal burial place, built in the 1930’s.
Transfer to Hue railway station to catch train to Hanoi SE4 (16.33-04.30+1). (soft sleeper 4 berth sharing compartment).
Continue to visit the Imperial Citadel-an impressive complex, first built in 17th century based on the ancient practice of geomancy. We also take a visit the completely different Khai Dinh royal burial place, built in the 1930’s.

DAY 6: HANOI ARRIVAL – HANOI CITY CITY TOUR (B).
Arrive Hanoi in the morning, transfer to 3* hotel for refresh and have breakfast.
Today enjoy a full day city tour starting with the Temple of Literature, which is well known as the first university of Vietnam and the impressive Ethnologic Museum, dedicated to Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups. The beautiful West Lake and the History Museum with an excellent collection of artifacts illustrating the Vietnamese history are also highlight of our trip. Visit these sights before continuing to the peaceful lake of Hoan Kiem. In the evening, attend the famous performance of water puppetry. Overnight in Hanoi

DAY 8: HANOI – HALONG BAY CRUISE (B/L/D).
8.30 am pick up you at your hotel in Hanoi. Travel to Ha Long city for about 3 hour drive. Upon arrival, transfer to a junk for a cruise around Ha Long Bay with a delicious local seafood lunch served on board. Passing Dog Island, Incense Urn Island, Ga Choi Island, Finger Island, Hoa Cuong Island, and visit Surprise cave and short swim at Titov beach (if weather permitted). Have dinner on board. In the evening, enjoy the night fishing and later overnight on board.
DAY 9: HALONG BAY CRUISE – HANOI – LAOCAI (B/L).
In the morning, cruising to Bai Tu Long Bay, Fire Island, Bo Nau Island, fishing village. Having lunch on boat and arrive at Ha long wharf about 12.00 noon. Return to Hanoi by private car, arrive in Hanoi about 16.00 pm

DAY 10: LAO CAI – SAPA TOUR (B).
In the morning, short trek to Ham Rong Mountain; enjoy the minority show performed by the young minority ladies and men. On clear days you get a beautiful overview of Sapa town and will visit the so-called “stone forest” here. Trek back to Sapa, then visit the market. In the afternoon, take a short drive to Cat Cat village, home to Hmong people. Walk around the village and share the daily lives of the locals for a rare glimpse into their culture and customs.

DAY 11: SAPA – TA PHIN – LAO CAI, night train to Hanoi (B).
Morning at leisure for own activities. A scenic 6km drive brings you to Ta Phin village, lying in a hillside meadow. The village is home to Red Dzao and Hmong people. Late afternoon, drive to Lao Cai to station
