
Online Travel Vietnam: An exhibition featuring characters of Japanese comic books and cartoons is being held in Hanoi before moving to Hue and Ho Chi Minh City.
Titled "The Japanese cartoon kingdom", the exhibition gathers movies, photos, statues and books about Japanese iconic manga characters including Hello Kitty and Doreamon, Pokemon, Ultraman and Astro Boy.
Visitors will have a chance to learn about the origin and the development process of the Manga and Anime wave which has been considered part of Japanese culture in other countries.
Born in the 1950s, manga comics and cartoons are extremely popular in Japan among children and adults and have been translated into many languages around the world.
The exhibition organized by the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam will continue at the Vietnam University of Fine Arts in Hanoi until October 23 before moving to the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City on November 2-13 and to the Ho Chi Minh City Museum in HCMC from November 25 to September 4.
Earlier from May 18 to June 16, an exhibition showcasing Japanese manga comics published from 2000 was held at the Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts in Hanoi.
