
Online Travel Vietnam: Artists from the Spanish Ballet Cristina Hoyos dance troupe will perform flamenco in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City this month to celebrate Spain’s Independence Day (October 12).
Titled "Flamenco Poems", the show exclusively designed for Vietnamese audiences will see five dancers perform the troupe's most successful repertoires including "Gypsy Ballads", "Southern Tour" and "Cante Jondo's Poem".
The troupe will perform at the Hanoi Opera House at 1 Trang Tien in Hoan Kiem District on October 12 and HCMC Opera House at 7 Cong Truong Lam Son in District 1 two days later.
Both shows will start at 20h.
Free tickets are available at the Embassy of Spain in Hanoi at 4 Le Hong Phong and the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in HCMC at 21 Phung Khac Khoan in District 1.
Flamenco, which was declared one of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2010, is a genre of music and dance that has its roots in Andalusian in Spain.
The "cante" (singing), "toque" (guitar playing), dance and "palmas" (handclaps) are the principal facets of flamenco.
