Chartered flights to Danang unsuccessful

Online Travel Vietnam: Several chartered flights from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan to the central coast city of Danang have either been canceled or delayed due to falling travel demand, said the local tour operator catering to such flights.

Cao Tri Dung, director of Danang-based Vitours, told the Daily that China's Chengdu-Danang and Hong Kong-Danang routes scheduled for this May were canceled. Meanwhile, routes like Kunming-Danang by China Southern Airlines and Taipei-Danang by China Eastern Airlines are rescheduled until August 8 and 18, around three months later than initially planned.

"The changes have been made due to a decline in travel demand," Dung said.

Vitours is the only travel agent to serve tourists from Kunming and cooperate with other partners to receive travelers from Taipei.

"The flights will operate within a year. The number of chartered flights from China to Danang is lower than expected but it still increases two times compared to the same period of last year," Dung said.

Vitours is receiving more tourists from chartered flights from Guangzhou and Shanghai.
