Hundreds of Japanese tourists to visit HCM City

Online Travel Vietnam: Hundreds of Japanese tourists will fly to Ho Chi Minh City on chartered flights in June and July, according to the two local large travel agents, APEX and Vietravel.

This is good news for the local tourism sector as few Japanese tourists have visited Vietnam or the City since the huge natural disasters in Japan in March.

One of the tourist agents said that the Japanese tourist market has recovered more quickly than expected.

Particularly, the Manager for International Tourists of Vietravel, Bui Nguyen Dang Tam, said that the company will welcome 3 groups of some 650 Japanese tourists in July and a large number of other Japanese tourists had also booked tours for the foloowing months.

Meanwhile, General Director of APEX, Nguyen Van Tran, affirmed that his company will receive at least 2 groups of some 300 Japanese tourists on 2 chartered flights by the end of the year and the first group of some 150 tourists from Japan will arrive in Ho Chi Minh City in late June.

According to local tourism officials, Japan is one of the City's 10 leading tourist markets.
